Global Youth Service Day is the largest community service event in the world and LCCAP is involved each year as it coordinates efforts in this area. Funded by Youth Service America, LCCAP is the lead agency for the Lawrence County area and seeks to mobilize, support and educate community members on the importance of helping others. Often times, good deeds are appreciated, but go virtually unnoticed GYSD aims to recognize the millions of youth across the world (including thousands in Lawrence County alone) and highlight their efforts that make a positive impact on the community each April.

General Services Provided:

• Provides guidance and support for interested persons or groups wishing to participate in community service.

• Organizes a Youth Coalition designed to help identify needs that exist in the community, get other youth involved in service opportunities and plan and implement their own impact project.

• Tracks, highlights and recognizes youth efforts in the Lawrence County area.
