Medical Assistance Transportation Program (MATP)

Medical Assistance Transportation Program (MATP) funds trips for medical appointments, to pick up prescriptions or for obtaining medical equipment. Individuals with medical insurance through the Department of Public Welfare may be eligible for free transportation to these facilities. Transportation may be provided through: $ 0.12 per mile reimbursement plus cost of parking and tolls, ACTS’ Shared Ride Program or other public or private transportation providers

General Services Provided:
• May provide free transportation for medical appointments, to pick up prescriptions or for obtaining medical equipment, using the ACTS bus and the New Castle Area Transit Authority, other public or private transportation providers or may provide mileage reimbursement with the use of recipients’ own vehicle.

Eligibility Requirements:
• Target population: must receive medical insurance through the Department of Public Welfare.
• No income guidelines apply.
